Our wrestling families have been vital in Urijahs recovery. They have been there since the beginning with long hospital visits, donations of there Bronco Game tickets, prayers, cards, and much more. We could never replace the family that wrestling has given us. We are thankful and appreciative to have such amazing people on our team. Thank you to everyone who participated in our competition to get bottle tops. A special thank you to Ethan Hagans and the Hagans Family who brought in over 15 pds of tops. Thank you

Ryan Boutilier Leads Duran to 3rd Place Finish

Duran Wrestling placed 3rd at the New Mexico National tournament. The tournament was a full sold out event. Our wrestlers showed up ready and prepared to battle. We had 5 wrestlers make the finals and 3 wrestlers win national championships. Ryan Boutilier had an exceptional tournament has he dared to do two brackets. He won the 8u and earned a bronze medal in 10u. Giovanni Ramos won his third national championship of the year. Angel also earned his third championship of the year. Urijah Duran fell short in the championship earning a silver medal. jyruis Bensik was a true warrior as he battled back for second. Daniel Apodaca gave it a go and wrestled like a beast to earn his 4th place finish. Well Ian Diaz and Riley Atencio both wrestled hard to earn 6th place.

2nd place Finish at New Mexico Nationals

Jyruis did an amazing job this weekend. He would pin all of his opponents and have 5 wins on the day.  He lost the first match of the day which we all know makes for a long day. He then came all the way back to win the wrestle off against some really good kids. Great Job Jyruis. Pride is what you have

By David Duran

The Duran Wrestling Team had an outstanding performance at Nationals this weekend. We missed the top 5 by 4 points. Our number one seed and ranked wrestler Giovanni Ramos fell ill and couldn't compete leaving us in 7th place. Great Job to all our wrestlers.

Urijah Duran --- National Champion --- Urijah made quick work of his bracket and pinned his way to a national championship.

Steven Debelko --- National Champion --- Steven also made quick work of his bracket winning all his matches. Earning himself another gold medal.

Ryan Boutilier -- 2nd Place -- Wow what a champion we have here. His championship match was exciting and intense. Great job. Ryan did a great job for his first time back in over 6 months.

Angel Bencomo --  2nd place --- Angel did like he always does. He wrestled super hard and for his efforts he earned a silver medal. Great Job

Joshiah Fernandez -- 2rd Place --- Joshiah did a great job. He made the semi finals and then lost a overtime match to send him to the other side of the bracket. He would then earn a shot at a silver medal were he would lose another overtime match. Great  job.

Daniel Apodaca -- 5th Place -- Daniel wrestled very well and we are poud he earned a medal. Great Job.

Ian Diaz -- 6th Place -- Wow no one wrestled harder than Ian did. All his matches were by one point win or lose. He lost by one point to the state champion in rd 1. He did an excellent job. Great job Diaz

Carter Gonzales --- 2nd place -- what  a job Carter did this weekend. He looked very impressive and earned himself a silver medal.

Anderson Lonny -- 2nd place -- Lonnys first big tourney and what a job he did. He threw some one late in the day for one of the best throws I have seen. He wrestled long and all day even getting hurt and coming back to earn a silver medal.

Jacob Jaramillo -- 4th Place -- Jacob easily had the best match of the day. He was amazing and we are proud of him. Great job.

Logan Anderson -- 5th Place -- logan did an amazing job and needs to stay away from milk shakes when he wrestles almost cost him a match. Great Job

Also attending the tournament and fighting hard was Jj Neislon. Jj went two and two on the day. Ethan Hagans who went 1 and two. Ryan Krupp two and two. Ace Duran 0 and two .
