Urijah had his best tournament of the season. He had the biggest bracket of the tournament. He would also have to face two opponents with only one loss on there records. He would make quick work out of most of his opponents with only one second period appearance. He wrestled extremely hard and very smart. We are proud of you YaYa. Nothing can stop you always go for the gold. Pride is what you have ...
10 of Duran's Best Wrestlers took a trip to Amarillo Tx. to compete for a National Championship. This Tournament was tough and being right after the holiday made it hard for our wrestlers to make weight. Our young wrestlers struggled during weight-ins as 3 of our wrestlers were running in the hall ways. The team came together and Deven Lopez and JJ Neilson showed what a team is all about. They had already made weight and had not eaten all day but choose to stay and run with our wrestlers. And after a great team effort everyone made weight.
Giovanni Ramos -- National Champion -- Gio wrestled smart and hard pinning two of three opponents. Great Job Gio
Urijah Duran -- National Champion -- This was Yayas 13th National Championship. He made the biggest bracket of the tournament look all so easy as he would pin all 4 of his opponents. Great Job
Deven Lopez -- National Champion -- Deven like always showed up ready to go. He would have to earn some very impressive wins and look all so good doing so. Deven beat the Tulsa National Champion again for the third time this year. Great Job Deven Lopez.
Daniel Apodaca -- 3rd Place --- Daniel was a finalist but fell short on ill calls and a thriller of a performance in overtime. What a tournament this was for Daniel his best to date. Great Job D
Alex Herburger -- 4th Place -- Alex had another great tournament. He would fall short in the most thrilling match of them all in the semi finals. He would earn a fourth place finish. Alex you did great.
Zane Leyba -- 5th place --- Zane also was a semi finalist. He found himself in the center of the mat with Tulsa National Champion. He did a great job fighting and wrestling hard. Keep up the great work.
LJ Herburger -- 6th place -- Lj was also a semi finalist. Lj did a great job and is such a smart wrestling. Continue to work hard LJ.
JJ Nielson, Khay Leyba, and Braydden Crum all attend the tournament and did an amazing job. Jj and Braydden each had a couple of wins and found themselves one round away from placing. Khay was in the biggest bracket of the tournament. We are proud of all our wrestlers. Continue to battle

So like I said before the Pride Wrestler of the Week is so hard to pick. All our wrestlers are doing amazing and everyone is showing pride. This week it has to be Jacob Chrisman. He is a brand new wrestler in the middle school age group which we all know is super hard to do. This young wrestler has fight and heart. He had a great showing at the POWA Tournament. He earned a bronze medal and won 3 very impressive matches. Not bad for his first time on the mat. We are excited to see what he can do in the future months to come. Great Job Jacob. Pride is what you have
Kendall did an amazing job this weekend at a very tough Duran Tournament. This was the biggest showing so far for a league event. Kendall is at every practice working very hard. And this weekend she showed how hard work and dedication pay off. Great Job Kendall. She earned a gold medal on the day. We are really proud of you. Pride is what you have
The Pride Wrestler of the week is getting very hard to pick. We had over 30 first places at the last tournament. Even when we lose were going down fighting. Our wrestlers are doing an amazing job. This week was all about Abraham Campos. Abraham wrestled in the afternoon after his brother Eduardo wrestled in the morning. Abraham tells Coach Robert I wish I could get a silver medal like me brother. Coach Robert tells Abraham you can do anything you want to. So Abraham decided he wanted to wrestle hard to win a medal like his brother. And after a hard long three minutes of a championship match he found himself winning a gold medal. He ran and gave Coach Robert a hug in surprise. But anyone of us can do anything we want we just have to work hard and believe. Great Job Abraham. Pride is what you have
